Do you want to mail it in to retirement or power up to higher levels?
Our conversations with clients often begin with “I don’t want to become my Dad (or mom)” in reference to all manner of questions. Weight, sickness, mental decline and lack of purpose are real fears, but the good news is aging does NOT equal less and you’ve never been better prepared to change for the better.
On your side, is a wellness industry that’s growing quickly and offering solutions via technology, formulations and an understanding of how to not only help you avoid a premature decline, but assist you in THRIVING well into the century mark.
And truthfully, as we covered in a recent post, the aging arc many are following isn’t entirely their fault.
We’ve lived through an era of poor diet science and an era of convenience, an increasingly toxic environment and financial decline that means we likely won’t see the stability of pensions and retirement our folks did … it doesn’t exist for the majority of Americans.
So what can you change? How much will it cost? Who can you trust? Where do you start?
As someone who has pursued biohacking (even before the term was coined) I can tell you the number of possible choices has grown exponentially in the last decade.
The dizzying array of solutions you can access swims in a sea of gurus, influencers, pseudo-science and FOMO. The good news is we can back away from all that for a moment and start with the simple truth (from our friend Pinache Desai) that you are not broken. You do not need fixing, and the trust will have to be in yourself.
You don’t need to take it all on at once. Simple changes in how you live and what you learn can lead to big benefits brcause like we’ve said, aging does not equal less …

Your path forward can be a lot like rebooting your computer. And once your human software and hardware get reset, the outlook for a healthier, happier, vibrant you takes hold and steers decisions, conversations, and actions. It is not only possible but probable.
I’m often asked where to start, so I’ll lay out a simple order of items to pursue as you go along. NOTE: It’s not a race (it took you decades to get here, right?) so take the steps as you’re motivated to do so:
- Baseline Testing/Consultation — we will lay this out in detail on the blog, but it’s a matter of finding a health coach or practitioner you trust, then getting the bloodwork/scans that show where you are in your most basic indicators and then reviewing these metrics with a guide. Sometimes it’s easiest to use an online/phone concierge who will consult, order the tests and then help you understand it all, and likely recommend supplements or action steps.
- Review Desires/Objectives — Now that you have some actionable insights, it’s time to give it all some perspective. Do you simply want more energy? Clearing of the brain fog? Get your weight or figure into a better zone? Restore sexual desire or sort out hormonal ups and downs? Write it down with some quiet intention and remember it is ONLY for you and how you want to feel about your process. Lose the critical voices and ease into what you would like to achieve.
- Spend a little time prioritizing what I share as the “vital five.”
- Sleep Hygiene
- Diet/Gut Health
- Breathing/Calm
- Movement/Exercise
- Community/Joy
Whew. Seems like a lot, especially when this is about CLARITY. The cool thing is that even starting this process will give you momentum towards that feeling that you are taking steps to help your body and your brain. You may even grow to like your routine more than sofa/pizza/beer/repeat.
As you go through our Weekly Clarity you’ll get a lot more details on specific portions of this process so keep reading, watching and observing and let’s stroll (charge) into thriving.
