In a special edition of The Human Upgrade Friday evening, Peter Diamandis and Tony Robbins continued their media blitz, promoting their latest book Life Force on Dave Asprey’s podcast and engaging with Asprey in an intimate roundtable session with the Upgrade Collective “studio audience” in attendance.
It seemed more like a few friends getting together to discuss the latest developments in biohacking and medical science as only people of their pioneering status could. What came up in the discussion was a treasure trove of insights into techniques, treatments and research being done in longevity and human performance that will change our expectations for prevention, recovery and repair of our minds and bodies.
Much like the performance coaches and counselors we engage for ThisMidlife clients, the guests and host detailed a level of knowledge and therapies for improving healthspans far outpacing what typical practitioners are offering to their patients. Frankly, the podcast was mind-blowing on several levels.
To save time we bought both the hard cover and the audiobook, listening during work and marking up the book for quick reference.
Listening to LifeForce on Dave Asprey’s podcast there are a few observations:
- First, if you’ve been a fan of Bulletproof Radio and later The Human Upgrade, you know Asprey has broached many topics that include insights into the types of therapy and specific techniques reviewed in the book. The depth covered in Life Force does shine a little extra light on the practitioner’s and companies developing these life saving and changing technologies.
- Secondly, it doesn’t take much time to realize that many of the technologies are cost-prohibitive for the average human, but that’s how new technologies work. Over time the expectation is that we can access them soon enough without a second mortgage although good luck getting insurance help.
- Thirdly, remember who is sharing this information. The authors have financial ties to many of the companies (as would any good entrepreneur) and therefore are anxious to get the products to the market, including garnering FDA approval as needed. Much of the breakthrough medical/health tech outside of standard protocols runs this course so the idea is to build demand to increase approvals/availabilities.
- Fourth, this is a great example of embracing biohacking (changing your chemistry and your physiology through science and self-experimentation to increase energy and vitality), and rightfully encourages readers to demand more from health professionals.
.
All that aside, if you witnessed the revealing of Life Force on Dave Asprey’s podcast, you know it can serve as a delightful awakening; helping you understand that the killers so commonplace in our society (diabetes, cancer, dementia, etc.) are treatable and could soon enough be prevented if enough people listen and demand more from themselves (that’s the prevention part) and their doctors.
